  • Established as Tata Ryerson Limited, a joint venture between Tata Steel (India) and Ryerson Inc. (USA).
  • Acquisition of the Bara Plant at Jamshedpur from TRF Limited.
1998
  • SAP Implemented at TSDPL.
  • Established Pune City Office.
1999
  • Commissioned the Cold Rolled Coil Processing Plant at Ranjangaon.
  • Installed the Wide Cut-to-Length processing line at Bara.
2000
  • Inaugurated the Cold Rolled processing facility at Jamshedpur.
  • Established Kolkata & Faridabad Offices.
2001
  • Commissioned the High-End Cold Rolled processing facility at Jamshedpur.
2002
  • Established Chennai & Raipur Offices.
2003
  • Installed the Narrow Cut-to-Length line at Pune & Slitter at Bara, Jamshedpur.
  • Offices established at Bengaluru, Kanpur, Rudrapur, Dehradun and Siliguri.
  • Received the CII-EXIM Bank Award for TQM.
2004
  • Installed Barrel Corrugators at Cold Rolled processing facility, Jamshedpur.
  • Installed the Narrow Cut-to-Length line at Bara Plant, Jamshedpur.
2005
  • Installed Baby Slitter at Bara Plant, Jamshedpur.
  • Offices established at Gurgaon, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar.
2006
  • Commissioned the Cold Rolled Coil Processing and Rebar Processing facility at Faridabad.
  • Pilot project taken for Stainless Steel Distribution.
2007
  • Crossed the milestone of 1 million tonnes of volume processed.
2008
  • Received Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award.
2009
  • Became a 100% subsidiary of Tata Steel and adopted the new name Tata Steel Processing & Distribution Limited.
  • Commissioned the Cold Rolled Coil Processing Facility at Pantnagar
  • Commissioned the Plate Processing Facility at Tada.
2010
  • Received the JIPM Award for TPM Excellence.
2011
  • Pantnagar crossed the milestone of producing 1 Lac components for Tata Nano.
2012
  • Crossed the milestone of 1.5 million tonnes of volume processed.
  • Tada received Silver Certification in Caterpillar's worldwide Supplier Quality Excellence program.
2013
  • Adopted a new vision of the company.
2014
  • Commissioned the Hot Rolled Coil Processing Facility at Chennai.
  • Installed the largest slitter within the TSL Tubes Division.
2015
  • Received the JRDQV Award on crossing a score of 600 under TBEM.
2016
  • Installed new Slitting lines at Faridabad and Jamshedpur.
2017
  • Installed the Inspection and Parting Line within the TSL Cold Rolling Mill at Bara, Jamshedpur.
  • Installed a Hot Rolled Cut-to-Length line at Kalinganagar.
2018
  • Installed a Hot Rolled Slitting line at Kalinganagar, capable of processing high-tensile material.
  • Crossed the milestone of 2 million tonnes of volume processed.
  • Pilot project taken for Electrical Enclosures & Safes and Lockers.
2019
  • Rechristened as Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited (TSDPL).
2020
  • Recognised for "Total Cost Management Maturity Model" by CII.
2021
  • Adopted a vision of being a benchmark in Service Excellence.
  • Received "GreenCo PLATINUM" rating by CII Green Company Rating System in 2021.
2022
  • TSDPL completed 25 years of operations.
  • Crossed the milestone of 3 million tonnes of volume processed.
2023
  • Crossed the milestone of 1 million tonnes of distribution volumes.
  • Adopted six strategic priorities to guide the next phase of growth.
2024
  • Recognised as an industry leader and received the prestigious JRDQV Award for Excellence for crossing 650 score in TBEM.
  • Installed Robotic systems for bevelling and welding at Tada & Robotic tool set-up at Kalinganagar.
  • Adopted new Vision, Mission and Core Values.
2025
  • Commissioned the Cold Rolled Processing facility at Sanand.
  • Commissioned the Cold Rolled Processing facility at Kalinganagar.
  • Started trapezoidal blanking and skin-panel processing at Faridabad.
